O Level & A Level Tutors in Lahore: A Parent's Guide to Choosing (and What It Costs)

September 30, 2026 · Exam Preparation · 2 min read

Lahore has a large Cambridge community, with O and A Level students across DHA, Gulberg, Model Town, Johar Town and Bahria Town. Good subject tutors are in demand, especially in the months before the May/June and October/November exam sessions. Here is how to choose one.

What does an O/A Level tutor cost in Lahore?

Most Lahore tutors charge a monthly fee per subject for 2–4 sessions a week. Guides published in 2026 put typical O Level home tuition at around PKR 15,000–25,000 per subject per month and A Level at around PKR 20,000–40,000. Experienced teachers from well-known schools and tutors with strong A* track records charge more; university students charge less.

Seven questions that reveal a good Cambridge tutor

  1. Which syllabus and paper variants do you teach? A good tutor will name the syllabus code and know the paper structure.
  2. How do you use past papers? Look for topical practice early in the year and timed full papers before exams.
  3. How do you track progress? Ask for a simple monthly update: topics covered, test scores and weak areas.
  4. What grades did your recent students get?
  5. Can you teach both theory and exam technique? Cambridge marking rewards precise keywords; tutors should teach students how to write answers, not just understand concepts.
  6. What is your availability near exams? Many tutors get fully booked from March onwards.
  7. What happens if a class is missed? Agree on make-up classes up front.

Home tutor, academy or online?

  • Home tutor: best for one-to-one attention and students who need to catch up.
  • Academy: cheaper per subject and good for disciplined students who like a class environment. See tuition centres in Lahore.
  • Online: useful for specialist subjects (Further Maths, Computer Science) and for avoiding traffic. Browse online tutors.
